I have assisted at over 80 waterbirths thus far. Water is a wonderful, natural pain reliever. I can't imagine not using it for at least the labor. If you choose to deliver in the water that is wonderful too!
Please do not go buy some expensive birth pool set up. A 60 x 22 blow up pool is the best and most comfortable option.
