I am a midwife because I believe birth is a normal part of a woman's life.  I want to help women and their families have the fulfilling, spiritual birth experience hat is most possible in the privacy of the home.  Families must have the option of home birth open to them, if we are to maintain control over our own lives and our families.

I am a Certified Professional Midwife who provides prenatal, birth and post-partum care to families who want to birth at home. As of July 2006, I have been practicing for 9 years.

My role as a midwife is to safeguard the birth process, monitoring the mother and baby during pregnancy, birth and the post-partum period.

A defining aspect of my practice is that it is parent-led. I feel parents are the best people to make decisions for their pregnancy, birth, and baby.

I am a Christian midwife, and my faith is a deep part of my midwifery practice.  I am happy to respectfully assist families whether or not our beliefs are the same.

I have done many waterbirths. Parents choose where and how to birth, and who will be present at the birth. Children are welcome!

I am the mother of three homeschooled children. We live in a rural area of Beloit.

Prenatal visits are held in my home office, except for one prenatal home visit and the post-partum visits. The birth, of course, is in your home!
