24 to 48 home birth clients per year (2 to 4 clients/month).

Home Birth Midwifery Service
  provides comprehensive midwifery
services to healthy, low-risk women. Women wishing to explore the idea
of having a home VBAC are invited to call for a consult, too!

We believe that:
** Women have the right to choose where & with whom they give birth.
** Pregnancy, labor, birth & breastfeeding are normal, healthy processes
     of a woman’s body.
** This "Woman’s Work" is physical, mental, emotional & spiritual... AND
** It helps to define a woman’s self-image & has a profound impact on the
     course and direction of her life and her mothering abilities.
** The joy of birth & of nurturing empowers each woman with self-confidence,
     power, fulfillment, and the gifts of love, peace, patience and the ability
     to give, share & serve.

midwives & students are certified in Adult/Child/Infant CPR and in Neonatal Resuscitation.

Kim Mosny, CPM, CPM-TN, LM (Va) is the Senior Midwife and
Owner of Home Birth Midwifery Service,  having been "gifted with"
the practice by her primary mentor, Margie McSweeney, RN/CPM.

Kim began Primary practice in 1996 after a three-year apprenticeship
(1993-96) with midwives: Margie McSweeney and Martha McBride.

She is an apprentice-trained Certified Professional Midwife (CPM) credentialed by the
North American Registry of Midwives (NARM).
Kim is a member of NARM’s Statistics Committee.

Kimis actively involved in local, state and national midwifery organizations.

Martha McBride, RN, CPM, LM also a former partner of HBMS, moved to the Ozark Mountains of Arkansas. Martha is actively involved with midwifery legislation in her new home state. We miss Martha VERY MUCH and are glad she isn't too far away! We wish Martha great success and happiness and look forward to seeing her from time to time. We love you, Martha!

Martina Benson, CPM-TN left HBMS end of May 2004. She is moving back to Memphis
from her native country, Germany, with her family, at the end of 2008. She plans to continue
the work of midwifery in Memphis TN under a new practice name, Full Circle Midwifery.
