Thank you for visiting this web site!

Folks need to remember that birth is a natural, normal life event. It is not a disease to be treated or an oddity to excise. As long as pregnancy progresses normally in a healthy woman it has a low risk of presenting problems that would require hospitalization and a physician’s intervention. A midwife’s strength lies in knowing what is “normal”, knowing her limits when a situation is varying away from the “majority”, and in transporting women and infants, without delay, to the next level of competent care as soon as the need presents itself. Competent midwives plan for care if emergencies arise, have a keen eye for variations, but expect normal.
We have served clients from every maternal age group, diverse cultural and religious backgrounds, first-time mothers, and seasoned mothers having there 10th (or more), as well as VBACs (Vaginal Birth After Cesarean). Our program represents the Midwife’s Model of Care blended with the World Health Organization’s guidelines to give you the best essential care, thereby avoiding undue expenses and interventions. We serve women throughout their childbirth cycle, but are also able to accept clients at any point service is needed.
It is such a joy to serve women who wish to work with their bodies to nurture and bring forth in health. Contact Consuelo at LifeReach@juno.com or tel. 434.378.4678. Include your contact information (name, telephone number, email and postal address/location). And please answer a few questions:
Are you pregnant now? If so, do you know your due date? EDD: ________
Is this your first baby? If not, which?
Have you had a non-medicated birth?
Have you had a Cesarean Section?
How and where did you find out that an out-of-hospital birth is an option for you?
Have you had, or do you know anyone who has had, an out-of-hospital birth?
What do you like most about birthing outside of a hospital setting?
How do you think having a midwife would affect your pregnancy and birth?
Are your spouse and family supportive of an out-of-hospital birth experience?
If you are in North Carolina, you may have difficulty finding a midwife who would provide in-home services. You should examine your desires earnestly. Would you consider an out-of-hospital birth in another location/setting?
Some insurance companies are starting to pay for midwifery care. We can assist with your forms but it is the responsibility of the client to file claims. Services may be offered to Medicaid eligible families in Virginia at no cost...
