My main goal is to educate women and their families about themselves and their birth experience. I feel the time I spend with women and their families
is a springboard to the rest of their life. Midwives as providers can affect women in a positive way by assisting them in their life long job of parenting.
I am just like you. I want to do a good job and have a positive effect on the people I meet during each and every day.
I practice in the foothills of Missouri, I have never seen a homebirth and I feel it is because God wants me to make hospital births more humanistic. I am NO longer
practicing at Freeman Hospital because our philosophies about childbirth were just too different. I appreciate as little medical intervention as possible. Although, depending on the the woman, I am as open minded as a practitioner can be. Anything to make your birth experience the BEST. "Your Baby, Your Way" is my motto. I discuss all options and encourage birth plans because I feel I had my births the way I wanted, so I am here to assist women in having the birth experience the way they want....... "Your Birth, Your Way"

What hospital do you deliver at? What other doctors/midwives in Joplin area allow VBACs?

I had my first child in the hospital, only because I had no options. But this time I'm trying to plan ahead. My ideal would be a birthing center but I'm not ruling all else out. I just need help finding services and choosing the best option. I'm desperate. Please help.

I am interested in a midwife; this will be my first baby. I cannot seem to find anyone close to me in AR. Do you know any, or would you be willing to travel? I am interested in home birth, but my partner is concerned about safety...

Terri,
I guess I have to make this shorter. I am finding no support in the central Illinois area to try a VBAC after two cesareans. However, I know it is possible. I just need some help in being pointed in the right direction. Do you have any suggestions?

My husband and I are looking for midwives to interview for our next pregnancy. Even though I've just given birth to our first child (a daughter on April 15th) we are getting ready for the next one in advance. She was born in a hospital, and we would like to do a home birth next time. Please email us and let us know how you do things.
Blessings

Do you deliver out of Freeman? Are there any more midwives in the area? Do you prefer homebirths or birthingcenters? I am new to the area. My first was born in a hospital with epidural. I would like to have another child and try to do it naturally, but am not so sure about doing it at home. Your thoughts would be appreciated!

I am looking at moving to Springfield, Missouri. One of my considerations for moving is wheither or not there is a midwife close by. My first child was delivered by a doctor and my second two by a midwife. We would like to have more children, and I do not want to have a doctor there unless circumstances arise and demand it.

I had 5 children, the last 2 were born at home. They were the most enjoyable birth experiences. I wish more women could have that. It is sad to hear how hard it is to find a midwife that can/will do a homebirth. We are also looking.

I found your practice info from birth partners.com. Do you know any CNM's in your area or Monett who attend home births? Keep up the great work you are doing!
