My midwifery experience began in Salmon over 30 years ago, including everything from homebirths in teepees to birthcenter births in this rural area of Idaho.      History:  I am married and the mother of three adult children, all were born at home.  I have attended the births of two of my six grandchildren.  I have been a Certified Professional Midwife through NARM since 1996, licensed as a Direct Entry Midwife in Montana since 1998, and chairperson of the Midwifery Review Board for the Idaho Midwifery Council for neary 10 years.

     In many areas of rural Idaho health care for pregnant women is not affordable and sometimes not even accessible. As a midwife I am happy to be part of the solution to bring  women the superior care of midwifery.  

     I thoroughly enjoy what I do, and have learned a great deal from all the different families/situations I have worked with.  As Idaho moves closer to licensing qualified midwives, I am pleased to offer  this type of care to women, a more humane (and fun) alternative to the present highly medicalized birthing occuring in our hospitals today.
