My mission is to offer counseling, support and help to expectant and breastfeeding mothers during the period in a woman's life that can be both monumentally exquisite, and yet overwhelmingly fragile.


I approach breastfeeding from a place of acceptance. I do not judge, or tell mothers what they "should" or "shouldn't" do. Rather, I listen, and help mother and baby find a plan that feels right. None of us are alike; all mothers and babies have unique circumstances, and ought to be treated with respect to their own needs and religious and cultural beliefs.


Ayelet Kaznelson is an International Board Certified Lactation Consultant and a Certified Lactation Counselor. Born in Israel, she moved to New York City in 1989 to pursue an acting career. After the birth of her daughter in 1999, Ayelet started training to become a lactation consultant at Elizabeth Seton Childbearing Center. In 2003, she joined the original staff at Realbirth and started to practice privately with The Manhattan Lactation Group. Ayelet relocated to Los Angeles in January 2006, where she founded the Los Angeles Lactation Group and was a staff lactation consultant at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center. She has happily returned to NYC, rejoined the RealBirth staff and once again offers private home visits in Manhattan.
