Kerry Dixon, MSN, CNM, CPM, LM
I finished my MSN with a speciality in Nurse-Midwifery from Frontier School of Midwifery and Family Nursing in January of 2007. I continue to hold my CPM and LM credential out of solidarity to my sister midwives from diverse educational paths.
I am excited to be a CNM with the HealthEast midwives and to be attending births at Woodwinds Hospital in Woodbury and St. Joseph's Hospital in St. Paul. While I still miss attending homebirths, I look forward to bringing the gentle philosophy of traditional midwifery into a new practice (new for me!), especially for women who do not have the option for an out-of-hospital birth based on their health, life-style or for economic reasons.
I am not going to try to pretend that we can create a true homebirth in a hospital, but I believe that the loving support, and wisdom to trust birth can be used in every labor and birth setting. I thank all my former teachers, mentors and the families who have taught me so well by sharing their wisdom and their experiences with me.
For those of you who are looking for an open-minded women's health care provider who respects your choices--consider seeing me for your well-woman and primary care needs.

I had my first child this past fall and even though my experience in the hospital was okay I am exploring other options for our second child. My birth plan was basically thrown out the window and the room was utter chaos.

HI! My husband are are going to try and get pregnant soon and I am wanting to do waterbirth. I find it unfortunate that there is little in MN that offers waterbirth.
We thank you so much for having the opportunity to be able to do this!
We're looking forward to meeting you!

I am currently on my 8th child and looking for a midwife. My first 4 births were with cert. midwives in a birth center/hospital. The last 3 were home births with Laura Erickson. She has since moved to Oregon. I hope to speak with you soon! I am so glad that we have options other than hospitals in Minnesota for such a natural event "birth" !!!!!

It's been a year since someone's signed this guestbook--and it's been a year since I've had a baby in a hosptial!
I am looking forward to a homebirth next time around, and am pleased to see your stats online. I'll keep you in my mental Rolodex, and maybe I'll be a client in the future (not pregnant yet...)

Hello Kerry and all friends of home birth in Minnesota! I am a midwife in San Francisco reaching out to the homebirth community in the St. Paul MN area. I am encouraged to see such a wonderful network of resources for families desiring home birth. Blessings on the path. Cynthia

I'm glad to know of you. My husband and I just had our first child in April and hope to have more children. I don't desire to use the hospital next time, though. The staff was very kind, yet much of the birthing process especially at the end seemed very unnatural and out of control. Things happened that I didn't want and wasn't really given a choice about. I'd love to talk to you about it and get your perspective sometime. My husband & I also want to explore homebirth and learn more about

I am expecting baby #3 this summer and after two very long labors I am exploring different birth options. I'm still not sure I want to leave my family practice doctor whom I like very much, though.

Hi Kerry! What a great website! I met Jill and Tracy last night. I think things will go well with them - still need to talk with Chris. I am still bummed you aren't available in April, but wish you well with your completing the nursing degree!

Hi there! I am excited to find a midwife here who can do homebirth/waterbirth as my husband and I want to do this when we start our family. I hope to meet you sometimes after we get pregnant! Thanks for setting up this website!
