I am a certified doula (since 1994) and childbirth educator (since 1995), teaching the Bradley Method. I have two children and live in Libertyville, Illinois. I support home births and hospital births in Lake county Illinois, south-eastern McHenry county, north Cook county, and in south Kenosha county of Wisconsin. I have experience at almost every hospital in Lake county, and some in Cook county. I teach childbirth classes in Libertyville.

During pregnancy, I provide couples with information about their choices in childbirth. I also educate them on proper nutrition and exercises, to help the pregnancy be more comfortable, and also to make labor easier. I provide discounted childbirth classes to couples and women who hire me as their doula.

During labor, I provide continuous physical and emotional support to reduce the pain and shorten labor. I arrive in labor as early as the mother wishes me to be there. I provide continuous support until after the baby is born and breastfeeding is going well.

I believe that birth is a natural, normal event in a woman’s life, not a medical condition that requires treatment. Each birth is unique and should be allowed to follow its path
without interference. When the birth process is honored in this way, 94% of births can be accomplished naturally.

I believe natural childbirth is the most joyful way to give birth. It enhances the new family’s bonding. I do all I can to help mothers give birth naturally. I emphasize the importance of preparation and practice by providing my clients with relaxation practice CDs/tapes, books, and videos.
