It is my pleasure to serve as your professional childbirth support person at the location of your choice. I am experienced with home and hospital birth. Please call or email for an initial consultation.
I would like to then set up a casual, in person get-to-know-you meeting. I'll gladly devote time to your phone and email questions. I'll offer you referals, and resources before your birth and after. In addition, we'll meet two - three times before the birth including one prenatal appointment to discuss your options, to draw up a birth plan, to work through fears/concerns, as well as any additional information you'd like. I am very thorough and you'll have a good idea what to expect from yourself, your hospital, and me, before we get to the actual event. :o)
From the time we sign a contract, I am on call for you. If you need me early because of a complication, I will be there. I set no limits on time. When you go into labor I will come as soon as you want me, and stay with you the entire time and then for at least one to two hours after the birth of your baby to get you settled.
We'll be in contact as often as you wish and we will meet after your baby's birth one to two times as your schedule permits to process the birth, talk about baby care, help with breastfeeding, or discuss your own recovery.
Chris Anne is in Lester Prairie, serving mothers in the Twin Cities, the western metro and western rural areas.
Amber, my partner, is currently serving women in the Rochester area. Both of us take births in the metro area and back each other up as necessary.
It is our desire that the beauty and sacredness of natural birth be preserved and protected for every woman. Let us help you achieve the loving birth you are hoping for.
----Chris Anne & Amber----
My sister-in-law Abby has always inspired me to be better than I am. When she was pregnant with her little princess Sally, she chose to have a home-birth with a midwife who was also a close friend. I always thought I was natural-minded, but this seemed extreme to me, especially afterward when I saw the pictures!
Then I got pregnant with my own little princess and realized quickly while reading about the safety and terrific outcomes of home births, that this was the path for me as well. I'd had 2 births in the hospital previously, both with a little pain meds at the end which, I don't think made any difference because both times they were given within 10 minutes of me giving birth. lol So, I was prepared for a drug-free birth, and preferred it. I also was confident with my ability to labor and deliver on my own, as with neither of my other children were born with a doctor present. I just did it on my own before they could get there. :o) I always say you don't need anything but your breath to give birth.
After birthing my little girl at home, I became convinced of the beauty of completely natural birth in a loving, quiet, peaceful home environment.
I also know that many women cannot afford a home birth, or must birth in a hospital for health reasons, or choose to because they just don't feel comfortable with the thought of being at hom. Those are all valid reasons, and I respect women's decisions.
My job is to support. Educate, Empower, and Pamper. That's what I am there for. :o) tee hee
My hope is that I will be able to help protect and preserve the beautiful experience of birth for every mother I serve, no matter what the location.
