Hello - I am Becca, and I have been a doula for the past 5 years, and certifed with DONA for three. I have been involved with childbirth for many years. I am trained in Level 1 Reiki, water therapy for labor and birth, aromatherapy, herbal therapies, and all kinds of comfort measures for labor. I have attended several homebirths, and also work in birth center and hospital settings. I carry a birth ball and other birth "tools." I offer help and information on comfort measures such as breathing, relaxation, movement and positioning, and have much experience with posterior labor. I help you gather information about the course of your labor and try to provide you with options, so that you can make informed choices. your web site was very helpful, my husband and I are currently trying to get pregnant with our first child and are thinking about using a midwife instead of going to the hospital. my neighboor has suggested using a midwife because she used a midwife for all three of her children (the newest arriving in Jan.) the info. on your website will help use to decide or atleast help my husband become more reassured about using a midwife.

Thank you for providing such an informative site! I'm the mother of two children born in the hospital, where there was repeated unnecessary intervention into their births. Now, planning the conception of my third and final child I'm hungry for information on home birth. I feel in my heart my hospital births were more harmful than helpful to my babies and me.
