Birth Choice Association offers and exciting self-directed learning environment for student midwives.
The comprehensive course of study includes didactic study (book learning) based on Birthsong Midwifery Workbook by Daphne Singingtree. Reading assignments, vocabulary and a community survey help to round out the learning experience.
Hands-on skills workshops aid students in integrating their knowledge with practical training based on the Practical Skills Guide for Midwifery by Weaver & Evans.
The training prepares aspiring midwives for apprenticeship with a practicing senior midwife. We welcome and encourage questions from prospective students. COLORADO NEEDS MORE MIDWIVES!

I currently live in FL, however may be moving to CO for my husband's job. Not necessarily a bad thing as I was born and raised in Arvada, however am pregnant and apprehensive about leaving my current midwife. Thrilled to see homebirth/waterbirth is available in CO.
