We are the center for all of your birthing needs in Midland, Odessa, and all of West Texas (TX) and South Eastern New Mexico (NM). We provide all of your maternity care needs, for a safe, natural, and gentle birth experience in a Homebirth setting. This includes all prenatal care, delivery of your baby, postpartum care, and breastfeeding support. We are also advocates for the wonderful option of a Waterbirth, with 90% of our clients using one of our birth pools for use during their labors or for an underwater birth.

I have been married since 1989 to David, and I am a mother to four beautiful children, all born at home. My children were 8 lbs 8 oz, 9 lbs. 3 oz, 11 lbs 8 oz, and 8 lbs even. The last three were waterbirths.
I began pursuing midwifery in 1994 and became a Licensed Midwife and a Certified Professional Midwife in 2001. I opened the first free standing licensed birthing center in Odessa in March of 2006-2008, and since then have continuously promoted a Midwife Attended Homebirth as the optimal choice in childbirth, and have successfully delivered hundreds of babies at home to warm loving family environments.
Since starting my practice we have traveled to the homes of women for their prenatals and births, and have promoted our most popular option, a Midwife Attended Birth at Home. Many of our clients live in towns such as Odessa, Midland, Hobbs, Lovington, Carlsbad, Seminole, Brownfield, Andrews, Pecos, Ft. Stockton, Alpine, Ft. Davis, Ft. Stockton, San Angelo, Bigspring, Sweetwater, Lamesa, Lubbock, and all throughout West Texas and South Eastern New Mexico.
My husband and I have also been childbirth educators for the Bradley Method of natural childbirth from 1994-1998, and I have been the La Leche League Leader for the Midland/Odessa area from 2000 - 2007.
Pregnant women and their families have great financial options with West Texas Birth Services. We file for insurance reimbursement for those with insurance coverage, and have a pre-pay discount to assist early self-pay clients, as well as financing options.
My Goals~
I would like to expand the availability of midwifery care to all residents of West Texas and East New Mexico, through education of the consumer and the medical industry, as well as the ones in political power who can affect change in a positive way. This includes promoting the Midwifery Model of Care, which honors birth as a natural, low-risk event that is to be respected. We are proud to be the center for birthing women, and to offer the option of a Midwife Attended Natural Childbirth in a Homebirth setting, as well as the warm Waterbirth option, which are the primary options for clients seeking the best quality and safest form of maternity care.
My Soapbox~
Apprentice Midwives are the backbone of the future of midwifery in America. Therefore, I teach and sponsor as many as possible. A mother giving birth with me will no doubt appreciate the quality of care received by such enthusiastic students!
Charities I support~
I encourage every midwifery consumer to become a member of Texans for Midwifery. I am also an avid supporter of the Association of Texas Midwives. A yearly portion of our profits go to La Leche League of Texas and La Leche League International. I appreciate any monetary support you can give to these fine non-profit organizations that support women in their effort to be the best mothers they can be!
