Aviva Institute offers exceptional education with a focus on maternal/child heath and holistic healing.  We offer certificate and undergraduate degrees for midwives, doulas, childbirth educators, lactation specialists and related professionals. We are adding programs in Global Health and Holistic Healing.

Our community-based model provides all academic coursework 100% online, with clinical (hands-on) training in the student’s home community, with an approved preceptor, or in one of our many affiliated clinical sites.

The wide range of backgrounds and philosophies allows students a broad base of knowledge, wisdom, and experience from which to learn. Our staff has over 30 years experience training midwives, operating midwifery schools as well as serving on national certification and accreditation boards.

Midwifery programs are based on the MANA Core Competencies, are designed to prepare students for the Certified Professional Midwife (CPM) credential, and to meet or exceed US state licensing or certification requirements in these states.
