Hello! I am a CPM and I serve in a two hour radius of Indianapolis. I work with a broad and diverse group of clients, including Old Order Amish, students, professors, rural folks and people of many different ethnicities and cultures. I support and practice the Midwifery Model of Care, and use Informed Consent with my clients. I incorporate evidence-based midwifery in my practice. My motto is that I care for you, as you learn to care for yourself. Clients make all the decisions about their care, and their births, with my guidance. I believe that childbirth can be the most important event in a woman's life, and am privileged to help families welcome their little ones. I believe that birth is a natural normal process and should be honored and respected. I have had a variety of personal birthing experiences including a VBAC after two cesareans. I have eight grandchildren who were all born at home into my hands.
I have practiced in many settings. I am experienced in water labor and water birth and rent out an aqua-doula tub and a Birth-Pool-in a Box. I love to work with VBAC clients and I am a VBAC mom myself. I am trained in Neonatal Resuscitation and carry resuscitation equipment.
My assistants are trained as doulas and are available to you during labor without additional charge.
We work to provide you with competent experienced, skilled care, while following your lead, your wishes and your desires.
I have been practicing for over twenty-three years and have served over 1700 families. I am a traditionally trained homebirth midwife and I became a Certified Professional Midwife in 1997. As part of my continuing education, I worked for ten days in a maternity hospital in Kingston, Jamaica where I attended 110 births.
Email me to set up a consultation time and we can discuss your concerns and questions and I can tell you about my practice.
