Anji Church is a New Hampshire Certified Midwife, a Vermont Licensed Midwife, and is a nationally Certified Professional Midwife. Anji also continues to occasionally work as a Labor and Postpartum Doula and also as a Baby Nurse. She lives in West Chesterfield, New Hampshire where she and her husband of 28 years have settled down after raising and home educating their four sons Brian, David, Andrew and Michael. She is a mother-in law to Sarah and Catherine and grandmother to Zoë and Christopher.
Anji studied midwifery for three years before taking on an intensive apprenticeship at The Birth Cottage in Milford with Adrian Feldhusen NHCM, CPM and Tracey Bowman CNM, ARNP as her preceptors. At the Cottage, Anji was involved in birth of all kinds including waterbirth, VBAC (Vaginal Birth After Cesarean), homebirth, and Hypnobirth. She taught a childbirth course at the Cottage for which she wrote the curriculum entitled “Truly Natural Childbirth."
Before becoming a midwife, Anji Home Educated and raised her sons learning from the wisdom given in motherhood. Anji also trained and worked as a nursing assistant, labor doula, childbirth educator, breastfeeding educator, and herbal educator. She holds certifications in Herbal Medicine, and Aromatherapy as well as Midwifery. Anji is the owner and creator of Natural Keepsakes, an herbal product line which focuses on the childbearing year and care of the child and family. Anji has served on the state Midwifery Association's Board and is now serving on the national Midwives Alliance of North America's Board.
Anji is dedicated to choice in Childbirth, and serving women and their families in the traditional sense of Midwifery. She believes in having answers not questions when entering the birth experience and believes questions can be dangerous to the empowerment of women in birth. She keeps herself on call 24-7 and also answers emails and text promptly.
